The purpose of a job ticket is to convey information about the production of a print job.
The idea is that anyone who looks at the Job Ticket should be able to get the job details quickly, with as little “searching” time as possible. With complex print jobs at a busy plant, employees will refer to a single job ticket many times over and over again.
Every print company has their own “take” on this, there are not too many “standard” job tickets out there.
Some job tickets are simple paper forms, such as this for example:
They are usually printed and filled-in by hand.
Some job tickets are Electronic. They are not meant to be printed, only looked at onscreen.
They pull the most up-to-date production info from the multiple sources in the ERP system and present it on the computer screen only, like this job ticket for example:
Regardless of the format, any job ticket will have such info as job number and description, customer information,
salesperson information, production specifications and instructions, delivery instructions.
PrintVis has 2 different things that relate to a Job Ticket:
1. An “Electronic Job Ticket”: a part of unique shop floor profile, showing the job line-up and some very basic job details:
2. A Job Ticket report which gets “printed out” as PDF:
