User Profile Personalization / Customization
If user’s PrintVis profile does not have personalization disabled, he/she can “personalize” their profile. The changes made this way will be visible by a specific user only, no one else.
Example 1: adding page bookmarks to Role Center:
Check if this profile setting is “off”
Then select a page you want and click on the “bookmark” button:
You now have the link to that page on your role center:
Example 2: adding a field to a specific place on a page:
Let’s say we want to add a “Profit margin” data field to a Case Card job line.
Open the Case Card and select “Personalize”:
PrintVis will enter into a “Personalization mode”. Click this “+ Field” button:
Depending on which “fast tab” you have selected on the Case Card, different fields may become available. So, make sure to first select the “fast tab” you wish to add the data field to:
All the fields available for you to add will appear on the right-hand side:
Select a field you wish to add
Click and drag it on the page – place it where you want it to appear:
Be patient while doing so. If the data field did not get placed exactly where you want it to be, that is OK.
You can move it afterwards: just hover the mouse around this area until you see the red triangle – then click on it to see some options.
Experiment: drag the field into a different area, set a freeze pane to this location.
When done, hit the “Done” button
Now you have saved this personalization, but you are the only one who will see it.
To check and possibly delete specific user page personalizations, go here:
See the list of everyone’s personalizations:
To customize a Profile so that everyone who uses it sees the changes
Navigate to “Profiles (Roles)” page, select a profile and click on “Customize Pages”
PrintVis will open a new browser window and switch into a “customization” mode
To navigate to specific pages, simple clicking on links sometimes does not work.
You would select a link and then select “Run” (or use “Ctrl” + click)
Use the same tools available as for personalization.
When done, hit the “Done” button again. You will see this confirmation dialog box. Simply close the browser window.
Now, anyone who uses this profile will see the changes you’ve made.
WARNING about “DESIGN” feature:
If you use “Design” instead of “Personalize”, the changes you’ve made are global and will be seen by everyone – in every profile.
Please avoid using this feature!
